FTI supply a broad range of copper tube in both metric and imperial sizes. The tube is fully annealed to allow maximum ease of bending and is manufactured to BS EN 12735-1 R220. The internal surfaces are cleaned and polished and the tube is suitable for all general use applications typically hot & cold water services, air conditioning, sanitation, medical & industrial installations and can carry oil and inert common gases & liquids.
The copper coils can be hand straightened or bent as required using standard bending springs or hand-held benders of the correct size. The jointing of the tubes is by the traditional methods of compression type fittings (Ham-Let brass range of Let-Lok fittings recommended and can be quoted by FTI) or soldered ends. It is recommended that the tube be re-rounded prior to joining.
For more aggressive environments, copper tube with a PVC sheath may be an effective method of protection against attack. The PVC is tightly extruded onto the tube and is available in various colours – contact us for further details
