Process Products

FTI supply a full range of process fittings and stainless steel ball valves suitable for use in a wide sector of industries. Our main process fittings ranges fall under the two categories detailed below - Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings and 150psi Stainless Steel Screwed Fittings.

Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings

Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings by FTIFTI  supply a comprehensive range of malleable iron pipe fittings, galvanised pipe fittings to BS1387 including a range of British Standard Pipe (BSP) socket, elbow, bushing, nipple, equal cross, tee, hexagon, reducing, union, barrel, cap and bend fittings.

FTI's range is produced from white heart cast malleable iron with fittings and pipe accessories manufactured to EN-GJMW-400-5 according to EN1562 (which is equivalent to W40-05 according to ISO 5922), and to EN10142 and ISO 49.

They offer a Working Pressure of up to 25bar and a temperature range of -30°c to +120°c. All threads are to BS 21 and ISO 7.1. Male threads are BSPT and female threads are BSPP.

150psi Stainless Steel Screwed Fittings

FTI offer large range of 316 stainless steel fittings including sockets and nipples, elbows, tees and unions, reducing hexagons and locking nuts, and blanking plugs and caps for in use low pressure screwed pipe system connections.

150psi Stainless Steel Screwed Fittings by FTIFTI's range of high quality, competitively priced stainless steel screwed fittings is manufactured generally in accordance with the BS1740 specification.

Fittings are BSP (British Standard Pipe Thread) taper and parallel thread forms - male BSPT threaded to BS21, ISO 7.1 and female BSPP threaded to BS2779.

The working pressure of these fittings is 150psi with a 4.1 safety factor. They are suitable for working temperatures from -20°C to +400°C.

Stainless Steel Ball Valves

Stainless Steel Ball Valves by FTIFTI offer a range of stainless steel ball valves in sizes from ¼" to 2". The range consists of a 1-Piece Reduced Bore Ball Valve, 2-Piece Full Bore Ball Valve, 3-Piece Reduced Bore Ball Valve and a 3-Way Reduced Bore Ball Valve.

The ball valves have a body manufactured to ASTM 351-CF8M with female BSPT threads. The ball seat is made from PTFE. They are suitable for working temperatures from -29ºC to +204ºC and at pressures up to 1000psi (69bar).

Tools

FTI offer a range of tools associated with the cutting and bending of tube for instrumentation purposes.

FTI offer a selection of tube benders for copper tube and stainless steel tube (for imperial sizes 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2 - and metric 6mm, 8mm, 10mm ,12mm, 14mm & 15mm).

FTI's tube cutters for stainless steel tube and copper tube cover tube sizes from 3mm to 30mm.

Employees, students or technicians work with pressures of up to 6000psi - this is the pressure held within some standard gas bottles. The consequences of a tube fitting being incorrectly chosen and installed at these pressures are incredibly dangerous and potentially even fatal!

Training Course

FTI offer training courses around the Ham-Let twin ferrule valves and fittings that are specifically tailored to employee requirements, on the safe use and installation of tubing and fittings to avoid the potential dangers described.

What some of our customers have to say about our training:

Learning Development Consultant (Safety) - Imperial College

"Imperial College have worked with FTI on a regular basis and we have been pleased at the professional training our postgraduates have received. The delegates have benefited from the theoretical and practical aspects of the pressure fittings course which has improved their knowledge base and ensured that they are able to work safely at the College. FTI has offered cost effective training and have been flexible in their approach to meet our needs. We have no hesitation in recommending FTI and using them in the future."

Laboratory Supervisor - Oxford Catalysts

"FTI's professional trainers deliver to our catalysis research team the confidence and practical skills required to safely work with our high pressure reaction systems. Following completion of two fittings training courses at Oxford Catalysts facility the knowledge imparted by the FTI trainers has resulted in greater overall safety awareness and improved technical ability within the team, many of whom are novices concerning the practical elements of operating pressure systems. I can recommend the course that FTI offers as it is a high quality method of transferring pressure systems basics to employees."

Projects - Manufacturing & Assembly

Since FTI was formed we have tried to help our customers achieve a solution to their needs.

Sometimes this has just required the supply of components but more often than not it has involved supplying an assembly to provide that solution.

FTI provide tube bending together with valve and fitting assemblies.  Sometimes these will be simply a length of tube cut to a specific length and then de-burred and cleaned, other times very complicated tube bends are required to fit within a specific design parameter.

Projects - Manufacturing & AssemblyFTI also supply a range of gas panels, all of which can be modified and tested to suit your requirements.

More recently FTI have been involved in the design and test of more complicated systems mounted either on panels or within cabinets.

FTI have a wealth of knowledge within the instrumentation field and we encourage our customers to involve us at the start of the design process.  We have worked very closely with some of our largest customers and are now regularly called on at the outset of a project and included within FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) meetings.  Our customers have found that by including FTI at the start of a project they have managed to save money on component parts within the design and ended up with a more compact and effective system.
